Friendship Gardens (Plainfield, Indiana)

USA / Indiana / Plainfield / Plainfield, Indiana

Friendship Gardens was created to be a haven of peace and relaxation within Plainfield's busy park system. The land was donated to the town by the Plainfield Juvenile Correctional Facility. Many community groups, businesses, governmental units and citizens contributed to developing the park. The civic organization Plainfield Plus provided the leadership for the project.
Located along White Lick Creek, Friendship Gardens is a 13-acre park devoted to quiet pursuits. You can meditate to the soothing sounds of a fountain waterfall, relax under shade trees amid the landscaped flower gardens, and remember friends and loved ones by strolling the Heritage Walk or visiting the Veteran's Memorial.
Friendship Garden's Gazebo Pavilion is the centerpiece of the park. Perfect for memorable celebrations, the Gazebo Pavilion has been the site of family reunions, weddings, and anniversaries. With its soaring three-tiered cathedral ceiling, the center Grand Pavilion creates a ceremonial atmosphere with chapel seating for 75. Used for table seating, the Gazebo Pavilion can accommodate 50-75 comfortably, providing an al fresco dining area that is both beautiful and highly functional.
To reserve the Friendship Gardens Gazebo Pavilion, contact the Recreation Center at 839-7665. Current fees for rental of the park shelters are listed in Section 4 of the fee schedule.
