Nicknamed "The Castle in the Sky". At the time of its construction (1939-1941), the Crest House was the highest building in the world. It housed a restaurant and souvenir shop. In 1979, a propane explosion destroyed the Crest House. A few walls and the star-shaped building base remain. The fire could be seen from the top of Pike's Peak nearly 100 km to the South.
