  • The lake is actually where Seawoods estate discharges its sewage. The sewage pipes going to the treatment plant have all one choked up.
  • Help save the lake ... it is part of the protected Mangroves ... the only thing separating it from the mangroves is a manmade road ... created a few years back to access Seawoods Estate.Today this road is a dilapitated ...unused hinderence in natures way to let mangroves grow naturally ... it is a nuisance, because you can spot antisocial elements loitering around and creating a menace ... creating problems for authorities to keep round the clock vigil for the safety of its citizens ... This lake is adjacent to a school ... children are growing up with a lake in their school backyard that is home to a whole list of birds many of which are exotic migratory kinds.(the Flamingoes are in the creek right now ... and they live in these mangroves)They don't have to switch on National Gegographic Channel to find out what these natures gift look like . Save the lake ... save the mangroves ... they are our first line of defence agains Tsunami ... Lucky for us the authorities of Navi Mumbai are way ahead of times and are already into saving the waterbodies of the city ... but this lake seems to be a 'slip through the cracks case' ... If you want to do your bit in helping the authorities responsible in making sure they don't miss out on conserving this part of the mangroves e-mail ... Divisional Commissioner (in other words he is the savier of the Mangroves and the forest land) divcom-konkan@maharashtra.gov.in and MD of CIDCO (City and Industrial development of Maharastra)... Mr.G S Gill md@cidcoindia.com ... that is jointly with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute ) undertaking a project to save all wetlands ... ponds and lakes in Navi Mumbai ... read about it here(http://cidcoindia.com/cidco/quizproject.aspx ) Do your bit e-mail them ... and let them know we have faith in them to do the right thing for the nvironment and the people.
  • the site is not a natural waterbody but low lying land
  • I have found this to be one of the best locations ever seen or Mumbai or Thane has. The sea woods lakes is the most beautifully maintained manmade lake in this side of the metropolis. One should see this to comment anything. NMMC has maintained it very well and I math witness as I go there for morning walks everyday.
