A great bayou surrounding beautiful Craig Park. On the eastern most inlet of the bayou, between the war memorial and bayou platform is where the main Epiphany celebration takes place. The celebration attracts Greek Americans from across the country, and the city's population is known to triple in size for that day. The Epiphany blessings conclude with the ceremonial throwing of a wooden cross into the city's Spring Bayou, and young men dive in to retrieve it: whoever recovers the cross is said to be blessed for a full year. Also, usually on the two days prior to Christmas, the bayou is surrounded at night with candles (Lambatha bags) and is a very beautiful sight.
