  • Powdikonam is fastly growing into a residential area. I know two famous persons lived here. One is Mr. Radhakrishnan (kichu) international powerlifter who represented India in Asian games. Another is Late Powdikonam Krishnan Nair, freedom fighter and leader of Communist Party of India

  • Powdikonam is fastly growing but it do lack some modern facilities. The condition of roads are really poor. It will take a mile to reach a good hospital! Especially, Kayyanikonam (K.K)road is infamous for its poor condition. It can't be even called a "road"! GS enterprises (Sivachandran TS, proprietor) is one of the best hollow-bricks and interlocking tiles company in Trivandrum. Powdikonam has some nursery schools like Hebron Public School and tuition centers like Victory. The growing generation has contributed a lot to change Powdikonam... Powdikonam Residence Association (P.R.A) has contributed money to poor and has supplied wheel chairs to handicapped people. President, Dr Harikumar, played the lead role in these activities.
