If we may quote the Riverside County web site: Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area is a stunning 710-acre park with a beautiful 113 acre lake in the middle of the desert. But of course, NO SWIMMING OR BOATING IS ALLOWED IN THE LAKE! The lake is located at the end of the Coachella Canal, which supplies the valley with water from the Colorado River (where boating and swimming is allowed . . .)
