Stop sign?!?

USA / California / Camp Pendleton North /

The site of the most useless stop sign in the world. There have been studies conducted that have tried to determine why they insist on putting a stop sign here, but all results have been inconclusive. Thankfully, there is a movement to remove the stop sign. The ongoing conflict between the two parties is the direct result of, "nothing better to do."

  • You mean nothing to do in the middle of CAMPEN? Imagine that. Jack the damn sign and take pictures, NJP schmeNJP.
  • HAHA Sgt ATON... well here the update on the infamous sign! There has been numerous occasions of stop sign theft and pranks. Times were it has been placed on the Repel tower... on the peak and numerous other odd places. In retaliation the pro-stop sign party has come up with various Hyjinks to make people stop there including sea-wire concrete and cement road blocks with "Stop" Written in spray paint. Currently there is no stop sign and attempts to put it back have failed. May the stop sign live in are hearts... and maybe some day somebody will be brave enough to put it back! (I am a pro-pointless-stop sign party member)
  • LOL
  • they have changed the stop sign to a speed limit sign. It appears they have given up but still want us to do 25mph down the hill.
  • I may have a pic of the old sign somewhere....I took some pictures during an inpromptu vehicle inspection harrassment by the provost marshal set up there. Seems this was a knee-jerk reation to a graffiti tagging incident on the rocks just to the east and north of the road. They were searching cars for spray cans. Great piece of detective work. *cough*
  • Back in the day that little swale there on the entrance road would be where the MPs would set up their road block if any weapons turned up missing. I believe the STOP sign was there to give the MPs a precise location to set up their shit.
