A set of rapids on the St-Laurence river. Situated between the island of Montreal, and the south bank (area generally considered suburbs to the city of Montreal itself). Near the old town of Lachine, which has since been integrated into the city of Montreal. The Lachine canal was built to allow ships to bypass these rapids. An important area for migratory birds. Also popular spot for whitewater kayakers. The "bunny wave" or "vague a Guy" is upstream and suitable for beginner paddlers. In the main set, there are several surf waves appropriate for more advanced paddlers: "Big Joe," "Pyramid Wave," and others.
