Parking/Midpoint for Difficult Run Trail

There is parking and entry to the trail (gravel) that runs along Difficult Run which eventually empties into the Potomac. If you follow the trail far enough in the northeast direction, it will lead to Great Falls State Park. Follow it in the opposite, southeast direction, and it will lead you past Lake Fairfax to Reston Ice Rink.

Directions:
-cross Route 7 at the traffic light
-make an immediate right down to the trail into a floodplain area.
-follow this trail to Lake Fairfax Park and beyond
*search "Trailhead to Difficult Run Trail" for trailhead and parking at the trail's westernmost point.
