Datansha Island is located in the middle of the Pearl River, covering a total area of 4.4 square kilometers. The island has well-developed transport facilities and it’s also the main passageway connecting Guangzhou with Nanhai and Foshan. Da Tan Sha Island is the only island in Guangzhou available for large-scale development. Since Jan. 18th, 2002, Da Tan Sha Island has been put under local administration of Liwan District.
