The southern boundary of Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is also the international boundary. In 1993 this was only two strands of light wire fence on metal posts. Being replaced with substantial fence to mitigate entry from Mexico. Notice many truck, jeep and walking trails throughout the area, reminiscent of the once open border.
