This used to be the Bulan Rizal Park or Plaza Rizal. This is where most concerts, pageants, basketball league are often held. Months before the 2007 local elections, Mayor Helen de Castro and (political) party-mate, incumbent mayor of Sorsogon City, and running for Governor, comenced the beautification of this old park and gave its new name.
