Niokolo-Koba National Park

The Niokolo-Koba National Park lies in south eastern Senegal against the Guinean border. It was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1981. Inscription on the List of World Heritage in Danger: 2007

The Gambia River flows through the national park, which is known for its wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, chimpanzees, baboons, hippopotamuses and the Western giant eland.
