Autamba-KilimNational Park consists of two areas: Autamba and Kilimi. Declared a nature reserve in 1974, it was established as a National Park in October 1995. The park is named after the mountains and rivers Kilimni Autamba.
The Autamba region covers an area of 741 square kilometers, and the Kilmi region 368 square kilometers. The park is home to chimpanzees, hippos, pygmy hippos, rare species of antelope, elephants, warthogs and more than a hundred species of birds as well as the aboriginal tribe Soso.
