Villingili is an inhabited island on the northeastern perimeter of Huvadhoo Atoll, and is the capital of Gaafu Alif Atoll (district). The island includes another island (Falhuverrehaa) on the northeast which merged (to all intents and purposes) with the main island. It has a population of 2925. The island was impacted by the 2004 tsunami, and PBDC, a Philippines corporation, has a contract to build replacement homes.)
