A small cairn on the watershed/state boundary at the bottom right of the box marks the source of the world's third longest river, the Mississippi-Missouri-Jefferson-Beaverhead-Red Rock-Hell Roaring watercourse. The usually dry erosion channel visible in the upper left of the box is the beginning of this 6275 km (3902 mile) river.

  • 3902 miles should be kilometers. Neither the MS or MO rivers are over 2400 miles except when combined, and individual branches above the confluence are added together. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missouri_River
