This is Air Force Plant 42, home of Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works. It is also where the X-15, XB70, SR-71, and Space Shuttle were designed, built and tested. Commercial aircraft developed here include the Lockheed L1011 - the first 'fly by wire' aircraft in the world.
