Near Largs, Ayrshire. There are 2 nuclear power stations here - Hunterston A and Hunterston B. Hunterston A is now being decommissioned. B has several years of operational service left.

There was much opposition to the siting of the station, which dominates the coastline. As there are new wind turbine farms located on the hills behind the station, photographs of the power station contrasted with the turbines have been used a lot in the press to illustrate the current power debate.
