The Ardrossan wind farm is located in the hills above Ardrossan, on the west coast of Scotland, about 35 km SW of Glasgow. It consists of 14 Vestas V80/2000 turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 28 MW.
Note: Various sources say there are 15 turbines on site, whereas in fact only 14 can be seen on the imagery. In December 2011 one of the turbines (T8) was destroyed during a severe winter storm ( www.newscientist.com/article/dn23848-why-storm-winds-tu... ), which may explain the count discrepancy.
