It is known from old documentary sources that Blakemoor house stood a quarter of a mile from the sea, between Cresswell and Hemscot Hill. Sir Francis Radcliff sold it in 1663 to Edward Cook. However there are no traces of this house in the present farmhouse, which appears to be 19th century in date. It is therefore likely that Blakemoor House was demolished before the 19th century farmhouse was built on the same site.
