Nova Kakhovka

Nova Kakhovka is the administrative center of the Nova Kakhovka City Hromada (community) in the Kakhovka Raion (district) of the Kherson Oblast (region) of Ukraine.
It is an important river port on the Dnipro (Dnieper) River and the Kakhovka Reservoir.
Population: 44,427 (2022).
The city was founded in 1952, in the place, where the village Kliuchove had existed since 1891.
It was in direct proximity of the established dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Nova Kakhovka is also famous as a location of the Tavria Games (Ukrainian: Таврійські ігри, translit: Tavriiski ihry) – the popular (annual in the past) international music festival in Ukraine.
