house, place with historical importance, Queen Anne style (architecture), 1898_construction
Lucy Catherine Moore Capehart, daughter of a prominent state legislator, had this imposing tan brick house built in 1898 on then-fashionable North Wilmington Street. Designed by A.G. Bauer, it is one of the finest examples of Queen Anne style architecture remaining in Raleigh. It was moved to its present site by the state and the Historic Preservation Foundation of North Carolina in 1979.
