Historic plantation and Greek Revival-style plantation house dating to about 1800, with significant additions in 1832. The plantation originally encompassed 2,000 acres, but much of the original land is now submerged as John H. Kerr Reservoir, a man-made project completed in 1952. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.
