abandoned gold mine

Mined in 1930-1940. Last prospector's boots, till recently, stood next to a cross on a near-by hill top. The mine had since caved in, and was subsequently flooded. Silica rocks forms an amphitheater with a level dance floor. For the last 20 years used as a New Year's outdoor dance hall. Part of a live bombing range.
