interesting place, mountain pass
The South Col is the pass between Mounts Everest and Lhotse. When climbers attempt to climb Everest from the southeast ridge, their final camp is at the South Col. The South Col marks the entrance to the "Death Zone", after which attempts to the summit are extremely dangerous.
