production, historical building
Built in 1846 to house the Rensselaer Iron Works. The site was later home to the Ludlow Valve Company until 1969 then Scolite Roofing until the 1990's. The city of Troy purchased the site in 2001. Part of the building was destroyed by an arsonist in 2005. Another arsonist struck in 2008. This time the fire did too much damage and the main building had to be demolished.
