Janske Lazne, a town frequently referred to as a gateway to the Krkonose Mountains, the highest range in the Czech Republic, is situated 613 – 1,299 metres above sea level. Anyone who likes an active life will find something to suit them in the Krkonose Mountain National Park, the ski centres and unique tourist attractions nearby. The fresh mountain air has a positive effect on those who take regular exercise. The spa is located in the middle of Janske Lazne. In 1935, drawing on experience gained in the Warm Springs spa in the USA, the first sanatorium for treating polio was founded here. Thanks to the important curative resource consisting of carbonated thermal spring water at a temperature of 27°C and rehabilitation methods applied here, the spa became a place where the health of many people suffering from the most serious diseases of the locomotive apparatus and the central and peripheral nervous system can be improved and even completely restored. The wonderful neo-Renaissance colonnade with art nouveau ornamentation; the park with its pleasant paths, delightful small cafés and chalets in the forest – all this makes for an unforgettable experience while visiting Janske Lazne.
