Part of the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust - the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. The Fulham Wing - a Victorian building - contains wards and outpatient facilities but no theatres or intensive care units: these are located in the main part of the Royal Brompton Hospital in Sydney Street nearby. Patient transfers between the two wings have to be made by ambulance. In 2013 plans were unveiled to consolidate all Royal Brompton Hospital facilities on one site centred on the existing Sydney Street site. This is likely to mean the closure of the Fulham Wing and sale of the building.
