Turtle Corridor

Some turtles occasionally try to cross the road here and get squashed by passing cars. So some guy started trying to save the turtles by helping them across the road. Next thing you know, he's managed to get enough support for protecting these non-endangered turtles that the road department is planning to spend about four million of *your* tax dollars building a new turtle ecopassage so the little darlings can cross under the highway without becoming road kill. At that price, they could buy each turtle a new Ford Mustang!

  • I think this is a good idea, quite a bit of $$$$, but so many of our animals are endangered. If I could bring some here to Oregon and turn loose in our wetlands I would. We don't have big freeways here, and here only a 2 lane road.
