Kottappuram is a village in Kottappuram Village in the Tehsil of Talappilly in the revenue district of Thrissur in the State of Kerala in the union of Indian Republic.

The place is named after a fort built by the Portuguese in 1523.

Kottappuram is in the Grama Panchayath of Erumapetty some 12 K.Ms east of Kunnamkulam and 18 K.Ms north of Thrissur town.Kottappuram is blessed with natural beauty. Wadakkanchery Puzha, Anthalancherry Kunnu and Mangad Kunnu are some of beautiful natural sites to be seen and enjoyed.
