This A&W was originally a drive-up style A&W complete with carhops. This location was renovated in the 1980's to a dine-in style restaurant, however, you can still see the peaked cedar roof that marks the original smaller drive-in/take-out building as it existed before being expanded to include a dining area.

The nose-in parking area that extends from the main doors in the centre of the parking lot is where vehicles would originally pull up to a sheltered menu area and order their meals. Meals were brought by carhops on a tray which would attach to your rolled-down window.
