car park, place with historical importance
'Peeli Kothi' was the name of a building which housed a Police Station during the British time. Sometime around 1947 it was burnt by the crowd when an a Police Sargeant (said to be of Indian Origin) fired at them. My father used to relate, the angry crowd put the building on fire to push the Police Officer out. He was subsequently chased by the crowd up to Mori gate and was killed with a heavy stone.
