This is the alternative border crossing to San Ysidro Port of Entry. Many believe this crossing is always a better choice to avoid traffic. The lines are generally shorter here but there are so few lanes that crossing wait times can be just as long or longer than the busy San Ysidro.
Just like San Ysidro, Otay Mesa is open for vehicles and pedestrians 24 hours, 7 days a week.
