Mono-Inyo Craters

Part of a chain of volcanic vents that extend from Long Valley Caldera to Mono Lake. Eruptions began about 50,000 years ago from vents now buried under younger volcanic deposits. Eruptions have continued within the last 10,000 years, with the last one around 600 years ago at Panum Crater and nearby vents.
