  • Besides shopping at this grocery store my entire life up until age 20, I also worked there as a bag boy. The drive way that leads to the parking lot is a fairly steep hill and it was tough to push the carts up it. We'd have contests to see how many we could push. I seems to recall about 15 being the limit. Also, if you're ever parked in the lower lot (under the overhang) look up at the ceiling.it's make of some soft material and you can throw sharp objects at it and they'll stick. Unless they've pulled them off, there used to be crushed pop cans, pencils, etc. hanging from it.
  • The IGA closed in January, 2011. The community morned the loss of the neighborhood grocery. Another IGA franchise owner bought the building with the intent to reopen it as a grocery, but after three years was unable to proceed. In April 2014, The Clifton Co-op Association announced it had been successful in acquiring the building and plans to open it as a non-profit grocery run by the Co-op. James Fothergill, May 2014.
  • The second sentence should read: The community mourned the loss of the neighborhood grocery.
