South Washington Street Bridge was built in 1886. It is a triple lenticular truss bridge dating from 1886. It has been closed to vehicular traffic since at least 1976. It was renovated in the late 90's. It was strengthened and raised about 3 feet so that incase of a flood, the bridge wouldn't be lower than the flood walls. The bridge is still actively used as a pedestrian bridge.
