A suburb of Brisbane. Postcode - 4077. Approved as a suburb name by Minister for Survey, Valuation, Urban and Regional Affairs 1 June 1976. Boundaries amended by Governor in Council 20 April 1991. Boundary altered by the Minister for Natural Resources and Minister for Mines, 11 July 2003. The area was originally known as Boylands Pocket and was used mainly for grazing sheep. Named as a suburb by Surveyor-General on 10 January 1952, using an Aboriginal word, derived from Bundjalung language, Yugumbir dialect, indicating resting time or night time. Refer F.J. Watson.
