Brisbane's largest riverfront parkland with over 800m of river frontage has recently opened at Seventeen Mile Rocks, in the western suburbs of Brisbane. The $13.5 million, 26 hectare post industrial park is a new model of park design which creates contemporary, active settings in an environmentally sustainable manner. The design of the park incorporates a large festival space, a river stage, a sculpture plaza, an interpretative and visitor centre, picnic shelters, and a regional playground. Remnant artefacts from the site's past industrial uses are interwoven as features within the parks facilities.
