Previously called the "The Bakken: A Library and Museum of Electricity in Life" and known in the past as the "Medtronic Museum of Electricity in Life", it is the world's only library and museum devoted to medical electricity. Focused on scholars and on young people, The Bakken educates visitors about the history of electricity and electromagnetism from 1200 A. D. to the present.
It was originally a private home before being acquired as a new home for the growing museum.
