Forest Park is St. Louis' jewel (next to the Arch that is). There's a lot to do here! It's great for families as all the cultural institutions are free! The Zoo, Art Museum, History Museum, and Science Center cost nothing to get into! If you're a family thinking about a cheap place to visit for a vacation, you really can't go wrong here! The Muny in the summer is a great open air ampitheater with wonderful broadway shows in the summer. The Norman A. Probstein Golf Course is a great public golf course as it has 27 holes, well groomed fairways, and greens all for a decent price! There's also a lot of places to picnic and exercise! There's a bike path that follows its outer border which is great for running, biking, and rollerblading (for rollerbladers, it's not a beginners track, plus you'll want to go clockwise around the park. If you go counter-clockwise, there's some hills that lead into busy streets...the intersection by the Science Center is a good example).
