served as the Residency of the British political agent to the Mughal Court, and as the headquarters of the Commissioner of the Delhi Territory within the North-Western Provinces.

Until 1831 Ludlow Castle had been the home of Samuel Ludlow, the Residency Surgeon. The building then became the Residency itself, and was later the site of a battery employed by British troops during the Indian rebellion of 1857 to successfully breach the Kashmiri Gate bastion and thereafter to retake the city. After 1857—in the first few decades of the British Raj—Ludlow Castle remained the home of the Chief Commissioner; Delhi Territory, however, became a part of the Punjab Province later. Among its many guests during this period was the former US President Ulysses S. Grant.
During the late 19th century and much of the first half of the 20th, the building housed the Delhi Club. Sojourning there in 1916 was wedding party of Jawaharlal Nehru. After India's independence in 1947, the Ludlow Castle building was turned into a high school. It was demolished in the 1960s to make room for the expansion of the school, now the Government Model Senior Secondary School. The neighbourhood and the transit stop in Delhi, however, continue to be known as "Ludlow Castle."

Mrs. Neena Gupta mam my scince teacher she's also loves me a lot, Mr. Anees Ahamed sir my english teache, Mrs. Shankuntla Sharma my Hindi teacher. sach bolon to yeh sab mujhko bahut pyar karty thy meri her problem solve karty thy. My batch mate in Shallu Sharma on that time she was my best friend, pooja Sharma, Rajat Thakur, Ashu Saini, Mridualla Arora jisko hum pyaar say murda kehty thy, Ankur Arora, Feeroz Ahemad, Amit Gupta. We all are very mischevis children. I miss u my friends. Our school provide us a very high education, all teachers are very supportive. I love my school very much.

  • Hi, I just searched the school got renamed quite a few times. it was then Ludlow Castle - 2 established in 1970, with some of the respected teachers I can remember like Mr R P Sharma incharge of Sports and Physical education also NCC junior wing. You remember Mr Mishra teaching Maths to only grade 10 and 11 (when there was no plus 2 system). I just got nostelgic.
