Vernon Mount Motocross track is built in the grounds of a Georgian estate in the suburbs of Cork City. The track is the former home of the Irish Motocross Grand Prix, and hosted two rounds of the Moto Cross World Championship during the 1990s.
In 2007, the Vernon Mount Villa (seat of the estate and focal point of the grounds), was listed on the World Monuments Fund's (WMF's) Endangered Watch List. The WMF said Vernon Mount, a neo-classical villa, is "arguably the finest example of this building form to survive in the country, where politically-motivated destruction of country houses was once commonplace".
