This house is one of the oldest in Du Page County. It is important historically as an early example of balloon construction and as the home of Ben Fuller, one of Hinsdale's earliest settlers.

The Ben Fuller Museum Association is in the process of restoring this building as a house museum. Since acquiring the structure, the Association has built a foundation, relocated the house and gutted the inside of all modern changes. It has completed a historic research and restoration study with noted preservation architect Wilbert Hasbrouck, FAIA. This study will be the guide as detailed restoration drawings and material specifications are prepared. Recent restoration activities include a new roof, gutters, front porch, doors, windows and shutters. Interior restoration will begin soon.
