Since 1922, the 1400-acre High Hampton Inn & Country Club, surrounded by the ethereal beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and shimmering lakes and streams, has been hosting generation after generation of guests who return time and again to renew, rejuvenate and reconnect amidst nature’s playground. The estate’s sanctuary-like atmosphere is completely unequaled.

Standing sentry on a knoll overlooking the lake, mountains and golf course, the High Hampton Inn is reminiscent of the great camps of the Adirondacks with its classic shingle style and expansive estate promising the ultimate blend of outdoor recreation and civilized hospitality. The epitome of a true mountain resort, High Hampton resides at a 3,600-foot elevation in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Cashiers, North Carolina. The near-perfect climate merely adds to the sense of serenity here, but so does the fact that there are no electronic devices, like telephones or televisions in the guestrooms, and that many activities are nature-driven.

In true mountain style, this historic landmark offers golf, tennis, pampering spa services, hiking and a 35-acre private mountain lake for swimming, boating and fishing. Revered by families, and listed in 100 Best Family Resorts, a series of beloved children’s programs entertains children throughout the summer months.

Listed on National Register of Historic Places, tradition and genteel hospitality rule the day at High Hampton where such long-standing customs as Afternoon Tea, dressing for dinner and the art of conversation are held in as high regard as the stunning scenery and flawlessly executed golf, recreation and children’s programs that draw guests back not just year after year, but generation after generation.

Over the years we've found that not everyone likes it here. Those who don't like it usually want more plush accommodations - ours are simple and rustic. While there are many planned daytime and evening activities, there are no neon lights or crowded casinos. Commercialism is not part of High Hampton's beauty. But fortunately, most people do like it and come back season after season.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
