The name Udarnik (exemplary worker) was given the kolkhoz (collective farm) organized here in the spring of 1931. The estate Ropsu was its central point. The inhabitants in the village Ropsu, six households in Kosemkina and the people living on the estate became members. The kolkoz was poorly managed and its members struggled permanently against famine.
