Three Mass fronts both Massachusetts Avenue and East New York Street, with a modified roughly trapezoidal footprint. It is the tallest building in the city to take advantage of the 45 degree angle provided by the radial streetplan, and mimic the size, shape, and scale of the Knights of Pythias Building, which stood on the adjacent block to the southwest until the late 1960's. The first six floors are of red brick and mimic the masonry and stone vernacular in the surrounding Chatham Arch/Massachusetts Avenue Historic District. Floors 7 through 10 are each set back from the floor below to allow for private terraces, with a prominent curved profile at the southwestern corner. The penthouse will open to a rooftop deck.
Upon completion, this was the largest building in the city to feature a green roof, open to building residents as a private park. Three Mass directly abuts the Hammond Block, a 3-story flatiron building at the northeast corner of Massachusetts Avenue and East New York Street.
The Three Mass penthouse is home to current Indianapolis Colts quarterback, Andrew Luck.
