This was previously knows as the Deelkraal Gold Mine and owned by Deelkraal Gold Mining Limited. Harmony acquired Deelkraal in February 2001, along with the adjacent Elandsrand mine – known collectively as Elandskraaal from AngloGold for a cash price of R1bn.

  • I think this is the Deelkraal gold mine that was closed in 2004 due to low price of gold.
  • This is the Deelkraal gold mine and it is now owned by Harmony Gold. They purchased this mine along with Elandsrand. They plan to try to run it again economically. I have changed boundary to indicate mining right approximately, and have added information.
