This the Mining Right for the Union Platinum Mine which since its inception was part of Anglo American Platinum's wholly owned subsidiary Rustenburg Platinum Mines Ltd. On February 15, 2017 Anglo announced its intention to sell its 85% interest to a subsidiary of Siyanda Resource Proprietary Ltd, and on January 26, 2018 announced the deal was completed and effective February 1, 2018 when Siyanda took full ownership, control and management of the operations. This deal also included MASA Chrome Company Proprietary Limited.

Siyanda will sell concentrate produced by Union Mine to Anglo American Platinum for a period of seven years from the effective date of the Transaction where after Anglo American Platinum will toll treat concentrate for the remaining life of Union Mine, both on pre-agreed commercial terms.
