From 1750 to 1935 this was a popular New Jersey Beach and vacation resort site. Its only competition north of this point was Linden Beach up the Aurther Kill. The place has a small fishing pier and clean water to accomodate fish cleaning. Most or Perth Amboy Bay has popular crabbing spots since the EPA has been moniotoring the Raritan River and bay for pollution.
