  It is a holy site of pilgrimage for the thousands of UFO worshippers here in the UK. Anything that will help to prevent them from getting lost in the surrounding forest will be a blessing!

  Lost ? Lost 'souls' more like ... ... they believe anything ! What DID happen is that the yanks based at RAF Woodbridge played an unauthorised STUNT on their neighbours at RAF Bentwaters with a 'Jolly Green Giant' helicopter carrying a dummy (for exercise) Apollo module. But they made a very expensive balls up when the module slung below the chopper hit a landing light and spun out of control forcing EITHER the chopper to make an emergency landing in the forest, OR, ditching the module to save the chopper. Whichever version is correct, remember the module was very expensive as it had to be an exact replica for realistic recovery practice (this had been the role of the USAF when they were based at RAF Woodbridge a few years previously as a recovery and rescue for their jets and also THE APOLLO MISSION should they have to make an off projectory landing on return to Earth. The Yanks covered up this accident by starting the UFO rumours. All the flashing red and blue lights were standard military police lighting when they had permission from the MOD to secure the area (which was OFF BASE) The BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT BEAMS were nothing more than powerful searchlights used by other choppers to recover the ditched Apollo capsule. The first attempt must have failed (area too dense with tall Pine trees?) so they would have had to cut trees down (only in daylight) to clear an area for safe extraction of the module by helicopter (this would have been under cover of darkness the following night) which explains the 'UFO' coming back the following night.
